What is ArtSmartTalk?
If you’ve ever taken an art history class, you’ll be glad to know that ArtSmartTalk classes are different – no homework, no papers, no required reading. ArtSmartTalks are about pleasure – the pleasure of getting to know works of art, the pleasure of small group discussions with interesting people, the pleasure of knowing more about art and art history, the pleasure of learning for its own sake.
In a salon-type class, in a comfortable art studio environment, you’ll have the pleasure of learning the stories and ideas behind art periods and schools, widely differing cultures, individual artists, art methods and techniques.
Series and special classes
ArtSmartTalk classes are structured as series of classes, each based on a particular historical or thematic idea or on a particular artist or group. Clearly presented visuals provide the basis for explanations, stories, and anecdotes by Marilyn, and wide-ranging questions, ideas and discussion are encouraged.
