                Content for Art Websites

                Picture
                Paul Klee - Red Balloon
_A picture may be worth 1000
words, but if you're an artist or gallery owner trying to attract interest and buyers for your art,
                you should know how important
it is to have good written content. Clear, enticing descriptions of
your images and intelligent, accessible explanations of
process and technique help buyers understand the value
of your work. Without these things it can be hard for buyers
and collectors, no matter how interested - and no matter how good the art -  to trust their judgment in buying art without
a big name. (Good content just might help yours
                become BIG!)

I will work with you to craft exactly the right tone for your work in any medium. My experience as a practicing artist, my knowledge of art of all periods, and my skills as a writer about art, will help me create the written foundation you need to showcase your art.

                Artist Statements &
                Promotional materials

                Picture
                Marcel Duchamp Nude...
_Getting you and your ideas out to the public can be problematic but  it's essential. A strong well-written artist statement and good promotional materials can be the difference between your being seen as a well-meaning amateur or a confident professional.  A brief, articulate, personal statement of who you are, what you do, and why is just the beginning. You may also need a statement to explain a particular direction in your work or a new series of paintings, a description tailored to a certain gallery or audience or an important exhibition, a packet of materials to send or give to collectors. Your work may call for a lyrical description, a technical explanation of materials and process, or, like Duchamp, you might need to explain something new to those who find your work a little puzzling!

If you'd rather make art than write about it, especially your own, let me help you put your art into words. As a practicing and exhibiting artist and an art historian and writer about art, I'm at home in both visual and written worlds and would love to put my experience and skills to work for you.
