Paris & Cathedrals: Ancient Marvels and Modern Pleasures
8 Days in Paris with Travel to nearby Gothic Cathedrals October 9 - 17, 2013
There are so many different ways to know Paris, all interesting and delightful. For this trip we will focus on Paris both as the center of the Age of Faith during the 12th and 13th centuries, and as the exciting, glamorous modern center of art, great food, and spectacular beauty.
A comfortable home in the heart of Paris
Our home base in Paris
Our base is a lovely 3 Star Hotel on the Left Bank in the 6th arrondissement, a perfect center-of- Paris neighborhood - calm, comfortable and close to everything. Rooms are fresh and modern and breakfast (included) is delicious!
Of course! It's Paris! Even the smallest detail is memorable - and the hot chocolate is spectacular!
Compelling stories of a glorious spiritual past, part of the pleasures of the great Chartres Cathedral - one of our day trips
Straight from the 12th century, these kings and queens speak to us from the Royal Portal of Chartres Cathedral.
Reims, Royal Cathedral and capital of Champagne
We'll take one day to go to the late Gothic masterpiece, Reims Cathedral, where the Kings and Queens of France were crowned... and while we're in the vicinity visit a Champagne maker in the gorgeous Champagne region.
