Paris. City of art and pleasure, where every step, every bite, every eyeful, is a memorable experience. No matter how often you've been, there is always something new to discover. And if you haven't been - now is the time!

Come with me to Paris and find what lies beyond the Mona Lisa. Contemporary art, artist studios, small museums, the fine arts of taste and smell, pleasant surprises that tourists don't often see. As a long-time (part-time) resident of Paris, an artist and art historian at home with the language and in love with the history and culture of France, I'll guide you through a week you'll long remember.

                Contemporary Arts

                Picture
Artists are everywhere in Paris, in lofts, in 18th century artisan shops, down hidden alleyways. We'll join some of them in their ateliers and have the fun of knowing the story behind their work.

                Specialty Arts

                Picture
A perfume made to measure, tailored just for you (or a lucky friend) by an aroma artisan - a lovely experience and a lasting fragrance!

                Arts of the Kitchen

                Picture
Of course we will eat well in Paris, but how nice to go home knowing some of those French ways with food. A session with a cooking class is a pleasure you'll never forget.

                The Art of the Markets

                Picture
The Markets of Paris - food, flea, antique, book - are marvels of sight, sound, and smell. A trip to the famous Marches aux Puces will take you back in time and tickle your sense of the curious and charming.

                Smaller Museums

                Picture
Everyone knows the Louvre and the Musee d'Orsay but one of the joys of Paris is its trove of small charming museums, full of stories, history, and beauty.

The Pleasure of a Nice Hotel

                Picture
A three star hotel in the heart of Paris will be our base, keeping us in the center of things but allowing us a quiet retreat when we need it.

The Delight of a Fine Meal

                Picture
There are endless possibilities for good meals in Paris. What's ideal for one will not suit another, so freedom  to choose will be part of the trip. We will eat some meals together but there will be plenty of opportunity to explore (advice freely given) to your heart's - and stomach's - content!

The next week-long trip will be in mid-to-late May 2012*, to be there for Paris's Ateliers Ouvertes (Open Studios) - groups are limited to 12 people. Contact me asap if you're interested in being part of an ArtSmartTalk art-loving group!
(*dates will be set as soon as the Ateliers Ouvertes schedule is released)

                Costs, Details

Costs will be adjusted for the size of the group, but will be in the range of $2500 per person (double occupancy, airfare not included) Details will be provided to anyone indicating serious interest.
Leave me a message - let me know your interest level, your questions, your comments. I'll write right back!
